Matlab Installation Instructions
Windows XP and Higher
- Download the Matlab2008a.zip file to the hard drive on which you want to install Matlab.
- Right-click on the zip file and select Extract All...
- Launch the Matlab installer.
- Select Install manually without using the Internet.
- The installer setup screen will prompt you to enter the file installation key. This key can be found in the document MatlabR2008aLicense_Instructions which is located in the downloaded bundle.
- Choose either a Typical or Custom installation.
- When prompted, locate the file license.dat. This file will be found in the downloaded bundle.
- Once the installation is complete you should be able to launch the application and connect to the server; the application does NOT need to be activated when connecting to the server.

Intel MacOS v10.4.8 or higher
The installation of Matlab Release 2008a is fairly simple, but you should pay close attention to the following:
- Be sure that all of the folders you have downloaded are in the disk partition in which you intend to install Matlab.
- Copy the file license.dat to a known place on your computer. You'll need to copy its contents into a data entry box presented by the Matlab installer.
- When prompted if you want to install automatically or manually, choose manually.
- Specify the appropriate installation folder.
- Enter the File Installation Key (this is found in the Installation Instructions document).
- Complete the installation by following the prompts.
- Once the installation is complete you should be able to launch the application and connect to the server; the application does NOT need to be activated when connecting to the server.
