Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Plug-In

You will need administrative access to install JRE. Contact your departmental administrator or Desktop Support Program (DSP) consultant for more information.

The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) plug-in is required for Java-based Web applications to run properly. All users with at least one responsibility in Oracle Financials, or HR Data Warehouse customers, will need to download and install this JRE plug-in. A customized JRE 1.6.0_31-b05 version is available from Computing Services.

We recommend that you uninstall any previous JRE update, then download and install our customized version of JRE 1.6.0_31-b05. This package automatically configures the plug-in for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Web browsers and does not include the automatic update feature. In addition, this customized JRE version will install into a separate directory so it can coexist on the same computer with other previously-installed JRE plug-ins.

JRE version 1.6.0_31-b05 has been tested and confirmed to work properly with the Windows XP SP3 operating system and Internet Explorer 7 Web browser for both Oracle Financials and the HR Data Warehouse.

Note: While Oracle Financials and the HR Data Warehouse may run on other operating systems or with other Web browsers, these are not officially supported at this time.
