Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Plug-In

The Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment (JRE) plug-in is required by Java-based web applications to run properly.  All users with at least one responsibility in Oracle Financials will need to download and install this JRE plug-in.

JRE is freeware, however, Computing Services has configured JRE version 1.6.0_12 for our computing environment that has been tested and is fully compatible with Oracle Financials. This version is static and will install into a separate directory so it can coexist on the same computer as other previously installed JRE plug-ins.

Oracle Financials with JRE version 1.6.0_12 is supported for the Windows XP operating system and Internet Explorer 6 web browser.  While Oracle Financials may run on the Windows Vista operating system, Mac OS X operating system, or computers using Internet Explorer 7 or 8 web browsers, these are not officially supported at this time.
