Carnegie Mellon uses IBM printers and printer drivers for public printing on campus.

In addition, IBM has an Academic Initiative Program designed to provide faculty and researchers at higher education institutions worldwide with a wealth of academic and research offerings, resources and benefits from IBM. The IBM Scholars Program delivers a wide breadth of IBM software, hardware and technologies. The Rational SEED license grant program is now a part of the IBM Academic Initiative .
