Endnote Installation Instructions

Windows XP+

1. Download the installer file to your computer.
2. Extract the zipped folder using Extract All under Windows XP (right click to reveal this option) or use WinZip if you have a version of Windows before XP.
3. Run the Windows installer ENX1Inst.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

MacOS 10.3.9+

NOTE: You cannot run the installer from the .dmg image. You must copy the directories from the Endnote_10.0.2.dmg file to the hard drive on which you want to install Endnote, then run the installer from there.

1. Download the EndnoteX1.dmg file to your machine.
2. Your Mac should uncompress the EndnoteX1.dmg file automatically. If it does not, double-click on the EndnoteX1.dmg icon. An icon that looks like a hard drive called Endnote 10 should appear on your desktop. This is the uncompressed file.
3. Double-click on the icon that looks like a hard drive to open the file.
4. Select the Endnote folder and drag it to your Application folder.
5. Double-click on the EndNote icon to launch the installer.
6. Follow the on screen instructions.
