DreamSpark
Carnegie Mellon is a participant in Microsoft’s DreamSpark Premium program. Through DreamSpark, students, faculty and staff have access to numerous software developer and design tools, the latest Microsoft operating system as well as previous OS versions and Office. To access DreamSpark, log in with your Andrew userID and password.
DreamSpark is also available on Windows public cluster computers as well as via Virtual Andrew. Operating systems and server packages/technologies such as Windows 8, SQL Server, however, are available only via download.
Software Licensing
DreamSpark entitlement is available while you are affiliated with the university. There are no perpetual rights after you leave.
You may purchase Microsoft products through the Computer Store at a discounted price prior to leaving. This entitles you to a perpetual software license and includes the option to purchase upgrades.
