Carnegie Mellon is a participant in Microsoft's DreamSpark Premium program. DreamSpark is only to be used for teaching, research and other related classwork. It should not be used for administrative purposes. Through DreamSpark, students, faculty and staff have access to numerous Microsoft developer and design tools, operating systems and more. To access DreamSpark, log in with your Andrew userID and password.
DreamSpark is also available on Windows public cluster computers as well as via Virtual Andrew. Operating systems and server packages/technologies, however, are available only via download.
Note: Computing Services does not provide assistance with the installation of operating systems.
DreamSpark entitlement is available while you are affiliated with the university. There are no perpetual rights after you leave.
You may purchase Microsoft products through the Computer Store at a discounted price prior to leaving. This entitles you to a perpetual software license and includes the option to purchase upgrades.
