Laptop Leasing

The Desktop Support Program provides laptops to the Carnegie Mellon University community on a “loaner” basis at the cost of $75/day.

These Laptops can be used by a department on campus for use with events, for temporary use while computers are being repaired by CMG (Computer Maintenance Group), for seminars, or home usage.

Available for lease are:

Windows XP Systems:

• (2) IBM T42 Computers with 1.7mhz Pentium M Processor and 1GB Memory
• (1) IBM T41 Computers with 1.7mhz Pentium MProcessor and 1GB Memory
• (1) IBM T40 Computers with 1.5mhz Pentium M Processor and 512MB Memory

Apple Tiger 10.4 Systems:

• (2) Tiger OS 10.4 - Apple G4 Powerbooks with 867mhz Processor and 640MB Memory

Basic software installed includes: Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, Excel Powerpoint, & Outlook), Oracle Calendar, Mulberry, and a Web Browser (Internet Explorer for PC and Safari for MAC). To lease a laptop, please fill out the Laptop Leasing Form.  Also, please print and complete the Laptop Pickup Agreement form and bring it to your scheduled pickup.
