Supported Software

The tables below (Windows and Mac) detail the software supported on DSP managed computers. Make sure all software is appropriately patched and current.

Not all supported/unsupported software is listed. Software not listed in the support table below is supported by DSP on a limited level. Software that meets this criteria are programs such as Winamp, VLC Media Player, Instant Messaging software. Certain types of software are not supported or offered (e.g., database related software such as ODBC, Access, MySQL, MSDE).

Note: Updates are provided automatically by DSP in the “Full” Support Level category only. DSP discourages older software versions than those listed below. If software is listed but no version number is specified, DSP will support the latest vendor-certified “stable” release.

Table Key

  • Full – Software is fully supported by DSP; includes but is not limited to install, setup and configuration, patch/version updates, and general production information.
  • Basic – Limited support; includes software install and occasional manual updates of software. Minimal configuration or other support is offered.
  • Encouraged – Recommended to perform a specific job function.
  • Discouraged – Not recommended; either does not meet job functions or does not receive added support such as regular updates, patches, etc. Contact DSP for alternatives.
  • Limited – Only recommended for certain departments. Contact DSP to see if your department falls within this criteria.
  • Neutral – Not specific to a job function, but may be needed or required. Contact DSP for alternatives or recommendations.
