Changes to Spam Delivery 6/13/14

Computing Services supports several locally hosted email options as well as forwarding and spam filtering for your Carnegie Mellon email. When you turn spam filtering off and forward your email to a third-party provider (e.g., Google, Yahoo), everyone forwarding to that provider experiences poor delivery time.

To address this problem, on June 13, we will no longer forward messages marked as spam to third-party providers.

Campus affiliates, who want to retain spam messages, should stop forwarding their Carnegie Mellon email and use one of the available email options. Forwarding and spam filtering preferences can be changed through the Email Tools interface.
