New Guest Wireless Service Available January 13th
Computing Services is pleased to announce the upcoming availability of our new Guest Wireless service.
This new service allows a faculty or staff member to sponsor wireless access for groups or individuals visiting Carnegie Mellon University. The sponsor simply shares a single system generated access code with an individual or group of visitors. No further network registration is necessary and one access code may be shared with a large group.
The service is available in academic, administrative, and some residential locations throughout the Oakland campus, with more coming soon. See the Guest Wireless web page at http://www.cmu.edu/computing/network/connect/guests/guest-wireless.html for more information.
This new service will replace the current NetGuest Accounts service, however, NetGuest accounts created prior to January 13, 2014 will remain active until they reach their predetermined expiration dates. Please note that other types of sponsored guest accounts (e.g., Guest, Personal Sponsored, Courtesy accounts, etc.) are not affected.
Please direct any questions or comments to the Computing Services Help Center (412-268-HELP or firstname.lastname@example.org).
