Computing Services phasing out WebISO in 2013
Computing Services currently provides two web-based authentication systems, WebISO and WebLogin. The new WebLogin service was introduced in spring 2011, and has since grown to handle over 70% of all web-based logins at CMU. As such, we are now at an appropriate point to begin planning the phase out of the older WebISO service.
If you log into a service that uses WebISO authentication, no further action is required. If you own a service that uses WebISO authentication, please continue reading.
Details for Web Application Owners
The phase out of WebISO will begin January 1, 2013 when Computing Services will stop integrating new systems with the WebISO service. Between January 1, 2013 and August 1, 2013, we will work closely with owners of applications still using WebISO to transition them to the new WebLogin service. On August 1, 2013, we expect to decommission the WebISO service.
Computing Services will offer free consultations to assist you in migrating from WebISO to WebLogin, and other related identity technology issues. Please see http://www.cmu.edu/computing/web/authenticate/web-login/shib.html for more information.
