Mobile Device Support

Computing Services now offers the following support for mobile devices:

  • Email (IMAP) configuration on iPhone, Windows Mobile and Blackberry devices.
  • Configuration and Andrew calendar synchronization using SyncML software for iPhone and Windows Mobile devices.
Before configuring your device, please review the Mobile Device Support Statement. The support statement outlines the following recommendations:
  • DO create a backup of your Andrew Calendar before you synchronize with your mobile device. Establishing a regular calendar backup routine (weekly) is also a good idea.
  • Do NOT create new calendar appointments using your mobile device. Use the Andrew Calendar Desktop or Web client to create and update appointments.
  • Do NOT use any other synchronization software. SyncML is the ONLY supported software.  Note: There is a fee for the SyncML software.
  • Do NOT use ActiveSync.
  • Do NOT rely on your mobile device to send or delete email messages.
