Computing News Portlet Change: Effective 2/7/08

Effective immediately, Computing Services announcements will be available through a new “Computing Services News” portlet in the Carnegie Mellon Web Portal. Note that this will be in addition to our other news outlets (see http://www.cmu.edu/computing/news/getnews/index.html).

Unlike our previous portlets, the content of this new portlet represents an RSS feed of the latest news from Computing Services web page at www.cmu.edu/computing/news/.

Campus affiliates who are currently subscribed to either of the following portlets will notice that “OLD” has been appended to the portlet name:

  • Computing Services Headlines (Old)
  • Computing Services Info Services Headlines (Old)

You will continue to receive computing news through these portlets until February 7, 2008. On that date all of these old portlets will be decommissioned in favor of the new Computing Services News portlet.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
If you are currently subscribed to either of the old portlets (discussed above) you should subscribe to the new Computing Services News portlet BEFORE February 7, 2008. Follow these steps to subscribe:
