Microsoft Office 2007 Available

Microsoft Office 2007 is available for individual sale in the University Store’s Computer Sales for a $30 media fee. The new suite of products offers a number of enhancements, including the new ribbon interface that merges functions and commands into one place. The product also offers templates that enable you to easily create more professional looking documents.

A number of external training resources are available for the new Office suite of products. On campus, Computer Education will schedule Outlook 2007 training this fall. The Help Center will offer full support for Outlook and best effort assistance on other Office products.

For those who plan to migrate to MS Office 2007, remember that files created there cannot be read with previous versions. To share files with pre-Office 2007 users you’ll need to save in the older format. Alternatively, users with older versions of MS Office can download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack to read MS Office 2007 files; however, the Compatibility Pack is currently only available for Windows computers, not Mac.
