When connecting, please don't:
- Use your smart phone as a wireless hotspot.
- Create an ad-hoc wireless network.
- Download or share software, music and movies illegally.
Mobile/Network-Enabled Devices
Computing Services also supports registration, basic connectivity troubleshooting and email configuration for mobile and network-enabled devices. So, go ahead...connect your:
- Xbox, PS3, Wii
- Tablet (e.g., iPad, Kindle, Nook)
- Smart phone, iPod Touch
- Nintendo DS
For support information, see the Mobile Device Support Statement.
2. Secure Your Computer
Make sure your operating system, anti-virus and software applications are up-to-date; and the recommended settings are configured. To do this, follow the Secure Your Computer steps at http://www.cmu.edu/computing/firstconnect/.
IMPORTANT: Using a computer that does not have the latest patches and/or is not running appropriate anti-virus software leaves it vulnerable to infection and may result in it being removed from the campus network.
