Wireless-Computing Services - Carnegie Mellon University

Connect to Wireless

To authenticate to CMU's primary wireless network (using strong encryption), follow the applicable steps for your operating system:

Temporary Wireless Access

Short-term Wi-Fi access for campus visitors.

Connect to Legacy Wireless

If you have a device that doesn’t support enterprise security or a userID and password, register your device to use the unencrypted, legacy wireless network. Registration may take up to 30 minutes to take effect.

When you connect to the Carnegie Mellon wireless network, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and consent to abide by the Carnegie Mellon Computing Policy and Computing Guidelines. Failure to do so may result in revocation of your network privileges.

Simultaneous Connections

Do not use a wired and wireless connection simultaneously or setup connection sharing with other computers. Doing so is a violation of the Carnegie Mellon Computing Policy and may result in loss of connectivity. For more information refer to the Network Bridging guideline.
