Guest Wi-Fi Access
Carnegie Mellon provides two ways for short-term guests to access email and the web:
The eduroam service allows visitors from member institutions to connect to our wireless network using their email address and password. Carnegie Mellon affiliates enjoy the same benefits when visiting other member institutions.
- Guest wireless service
The guest wireless service provides University guests with basic network access to common web, email, and remote login services (e.g. VPN).
IMPORTANT! While this access level meets the needs of most visitors, individuals who will be running presentations or vendor application demonstrations may require a more robust access level provided with a type of Visitor Account.
For guests and visitors who require more than Wi-Fi access, see our Account Types page for information on available services.
When you connect to the Carnegie Mellon wireless network, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and consent to abide by the Carnegie Mellon Computing Policy
and Computing Guidelines
. Failure to do so may result in revocation of your network privileges.
