Disable File Sharing

Follow the steps below to disable file sharing.

1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
2. In the Internet & Wireless (Mac OS X 10.6+) or Internet & Network (Mac OS X 10.5) section, click Sharing.
3. If necessary, click the lock icon and autheticate using an Administrator userid and password.
4. Uncheck File Sharing.
5. Click the lock icon to prevent further changes and close the System Preferences window.
