CableTV Service
Telecom provides CableTV service to all main Campus Housing residents and most academic and administrative buildings on campus.
If you encounter problems with your CableTV service, first reference our Troubleshooting Guide for assistance. If the difficulty persists, contact the Telecom Service Line at 412-268-8500.
Note: CableTV service is not supported or provided through the Carnegie Mellon network. If you have a tv tuner installed on your computer, you can try to connect using the manufacturer's instructions.
Campus Housing Residence Buildings
CableTV service is part of your Housing agreement and is offered at no additional charge. Simply connect your cable-ready television to view over 90 channels of programming.
- Residents of Shady Oak and Veronica apartments receive the campus cableTV service and should follow the campus channel lineup.
- Residents of the Oakland Apartments are provided with CableTV service through a special agreement with Comcast/AT&T Broadband. These residents should use the Comcast Channel Lineup.
Note: Comcast may change their channels at any time.
Academic and Administrative Buildings
CableTV service is available in most main campus administrative and academic buildings for a fee of $9.45 per month.
Although cableTV service is available in most campus buildings, this does not mean that a particular room contains an outlet for the service. Please see your department's Telecom Administrator to obtain an estimate to install service into your room.
Note: Telcom Administrators may request estimates to install or move a cableTV outlet, installation of a cableTV outlet or activation of a cableTV outlet using the links under the Get It category on the right of this page.
Premium Channels
Premium packages including HBO and PayPerView are provided directly through our CableTV provider for an additional fee. For information and to sign-up go to
