Configure CMU-SECURE - Managed Computers
(Connect 1 of 2)
- From the System Tray, click the wireless icon. If you don’t see a wireless icon, click the arrow to expand the system tray.
- Select Open Network and Sharing Center.

- Click Add and then select Manually create a network profile.
- Enter the following:
- Network name: CMU-SECURE
Must be in all caps.
- Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Encryption type: AES
- Start this connection automatically: checked
- Network name: CMU-SECURE
- Click Next and then Change connection settings.
- Select the Security tab and verify the following:
- Network authentication method: Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Remember my credentials for this connection: NOT checked
- Click Settings to add the external root certificate.

- Select the following:
- Validate server certificate: checked
- Connect to these servers: checked and then type wireless.cmu.edu
- Trusted Root Certficate Authorities: AddTrust External CA Root
- Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)
- Click Configure.

- Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon.
- Click OK to close the open the windows and then click Close.
