Why You Need to Secure Before Registration...

Before you register BE AWARE THAT:

• Carnegie Mellon's large, fast, and open public network is constantly UNDER ATTACK.
• if not properly secured, your computer/mobile device could be COMPROMISED WITHIN MINUTES of going online.
• if your computer/mobile device is compromised, it will be REMOVED FROM THE CAMPUS NETWORK until it has been cleaned -- a process that can take days.

Follow these steps to AVOID LOST TIME LATER!

NOTE: If your computer/mobile device is managed by a Carnegie Mellon departmental computing administrator, please check with that person before proceeding.
