Membership in the SAC
SAC members get long-term benefits: access to Computing Services decision-makers, a bright spot on their resumes, inside information about new or altered services, and the privilege (and practice) of speaking for their fellow students on computing issues. They can also choose from a variety of smaller incentives, such as free color copier cards, free 64MB thumb drives, increased AFS and Cyrus quota, and many other items.
In exchange, SAC members attend one dinner meeting per month to share and gather information. They also learn policies and protocols for getting help with campus computing and for reporting computing issues, and advise other students about the proper channels to use in bringing computing issues to our attention.
Interested students can self-nominate. Faculty and staff members can also nominate students. Contact the SAC Coordinator for more information.
