NetNotify Updates We've had some instances of patched machines being rebuilt, and thus being in a state of not being patched, but flagged in NN as patched, and subsequently, kicked off of the network as soon as the scanner found them. Under normal operating procedures, this is a desired effect - a machine which has been claimed as being patched, but which is actually not, should be removed until someone actually verifies that the patch is fully in place. This is not, however, desirable when someone is rebuilding a machine from scratch, where is obviously won't be patched, despite the fact that it was before it was rebuilt. What will happen from this point is that two weeks after being restored from a suspension for not having been patched, or after the machine was flagged as being patched, it will be transitioned into a new "state". Machines in the new state which are scanned and found to be unpatched will be treated as if they were new machines, and a warning/notification will be sent giving the normal (24/48/whatever hour) time frame within which to apply the patch. Our goal is to make it easier on you when you are rebiulding machines, by giving you ample time to apply the patches instead of removing the machine immediately.
