Requesting a Resource

To request that a resource be established, complete the Resource Request Form. You'll need to provide information such as the type of resource (i.e., room, equipment, event or other) and a list of resource designates. Resource designates are those authorized to monitor the resource scheduling. For example, a designate for a conference room might be the office manager or the administrative assistant for a department.

Resource Settings

When you request a resource through the Resource Request Form, you will be presented with options for how the resource will be scheduled. The scheduling or "booking" options on the Resource Request Form are described below:

  • Allow Double Booking
    • No - If you choose this option, the resource will be booked on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Note: The resource will automatically be listed on the People and Resource tab with a green checkmark (plus sign in the web client).
    • Yes - If you choose this option, multiple people will be able to book the resource for a specific time and date. The final approval of who will actually have use of the resource will be left to a designate that you assign (see Notify for Approval by Email below). Choose this option if you are creating a resource to be used as a group calendar for a club or organization.
Note: Until the designate makes their determination, the resource will be listed on the People and Resource tab with a blue question mark.
  • Notify for Approval by Email
    • You will only need to complete this field if you answered "yes" to "Allow Double Booking". Enter a single e-mail address of the designate who will be notified if this resource is double-booked. This person will make the determination of who will have use of the room.
