Encryption

It is important to protect the data for which you are responsible.  Before sending sensitive data through email or FTP, ensure you are using an email or FTP client that encrypts your login information (i.e., userID and password).

When sending a sensitive document through email make sure the recipient has a need for the document.  If it must be sent through email, protect it with a password and data encryption.

In general, sensitive files should be stored in locations available only to authorized users.
