1.3 Adding a Specific Cluster or Library Printer (optional)
Follow these steps if you are interested in adding a specific cluster or library printer(s), otherwise, continue with Step 2: Ordering Your Print Job.
The andrew print queue and generic driver that you installed via the previous steps will allow you to print basic black and white, 8.5 x 11 print jobs to ALL public printers or tabloid (11"x17") to the CFA and Hunt clusters. Some applications and documents will NOT print properly using the central print queue. If you plan to print complex PDFs or any other Adobe application documents to the central print queue, please perform a one or two page test print first.
Some cluster printers offer special features (e.g., color printing, resolution settings, custom paper sizes for maual feeding in CFA, printer-based watermarks, etc.). If you need to use special features that some of the public printers offer, complete the following.
- Download and extract the printer driver for the specific printer you want to use. Links to the driver downloads are provided in the Printer Model column of the Mac Printer Chart [PDF].
- Follow the instructions in 1.2 Install the Printer Driver of this document using the information in the Mac Printer Chart [PDF] to complete the Printer List dialog box.
