Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) Exceptions

The following support exceptions apply to Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion):

Power PC Applications

  • Power PC applications are not compatible with Lion. Please refer to the "Lion compatibility; native or not?" Macworld article for information on identifying Power PC applications.

Oracle Calendar

  • Oracle Calendar Desktop Client is NOT compatible with the Lion operating system. Individuals who use Oracle Calendar and elect to upgrade to Lion will need to access their calendar via the web client (http://calendar.andrew.cmu.edu/).

DFS Access

  • Support for DFS access is currently pending until a Kerberos authentication issue is resolved.

FuguSFTP

  • This is a Power PC application and is not compatible. Please use Fetch for SFTP file transfer.

Java

  • Java is not installed by default. Java is required by Symantec Live Update. When prompted, please install it or download and install Java from Apple's support page.

Terminal

  • Toggling back and fourth between full-screen and standard distorts the Terminal window. To restore the screen to normal, Quit Terminal and reopen.

Parallels 5

  • Upgrade to Parallels 6.0.

VMWare/Parallels Boot Camp

  • Delete your VM configuration and then reconfigure. There is an issue with the Lion recovery partition which edits the table and moves the partition.
