Statement of Support Outlook & Entourage 

Computing Services supports the use of Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, Entourage 2004 and Entourage 2008 as mail clients to be used with the campus Cyrus mail system.

Support Details

  • Due to security concerns, only Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 for Windows and Entourage 2004 and 2008 for Macintosh will be supported.
    Please Note:     If you are running older versions of these mail clients, we highly recommend that you upgrade. The latest versions of Microsoft Office can be purchased at Computer Sales of the University Store (lower level of the University Center) for a nominal fee for students, faculty and staff.
  • There will be no support for non-email related Outlook features. Non-email features include the Outlook calendar, tasks, notes, chat features, and links to other programs.
  • Full support will be provided to ensure e-mail can be read and sent securely with the Carnegie Mellon servers.
  • Referral support and best effort support will be provided for most Outlook features simply because of the extensive help built into Outlook as well as the online Microsoft knowledge database.
  • No support is provided for Outlook Express: the product does not use SSL or handle viruses securely.
  • We recommend and support plain text email messaging.
  • We do not support vcard.
