Adding a Signature

To create a signature:

  1. Select Mail > Preferences and click the Signature.
  2. Choose IMAP Account.
  3. Click the + to add a new signature.
  4. Type a name for the signature (i.e., work, reply, forward).
  5. Type your signature information.

  6. Close the Signatures window.

Using Multiple Signatures

You may want to use a different signature for replies or forwards. First create these signatures using the above steps.

  1. When composing, replying-to or forwarding a mail message, select the signature you want to use from the Signature drop-down menu.

Setting the Message Format

When composing an e-mail message, it is recommended that plain text format be used. To set the format:

  1. Select Mail > Preferences and click Composing.
  2. Choose Plain Text from the Composing: Message Format: drop-down menu.



  3. Close the Composing window.

Note: To set other preferences such as spelling and fonts choose Mail > Preferences. Use Apple Mail's Help menu for details on each category.
