Adding a Signature
To create a signature:
- Select Mail > Preferences and click the Signature.
- Choose IMAP Account.
- Click the + to add a new signature.
- Type a name for the signature (i.e., work, reply, forward).
- Type your signature information.

- Close the Signatures window.
Using Multiple Signatures
You may want to use a different signature for replies or forwards. First create these signatures using the above steps.
- When composing, replying-to or forwarding a mail message, select the signature you want to use from the Signature drop-down menu.

Setting the Message Format
When composing an e-mail message, it is recommended that plain text format be used. To set the format:
- Select Mail > Preferences and click Composing.
- Choose Plain Text from the Composing: Message Format: drop-down menu.

- Close the Composing window.
Note: To set other preferences such as spelling and fonts choose Mail > Preferences. Use Apple Mail's Help menu for details on each category.
