Roaming Profiles

Roaming profiles save your Mac OS X preferences giving you a consistent look and feel as you move from cluster computer to cluster computer.

The first time you logon to a Macintosh cluster computer, your roaming profile will be created. The roaming profile is stored in your MyFiles space in the Library folder. Your roaming profile is always saved as you work. The next time you logon to a Macintosh cluster computer, your profile will be available.

Roaming profiles offers consistent access to your custom settings including:

  • Browser Favorites - Favorites that you have set up in a web browser on one Macintosh cluster computer will be available from any Macintosh cluster computer.
  • Dock - Add applications, files, folders, servers and other items you use frequently to the Dock. These items will be available from any Macintosh cluster computer.

    Note: For more information on adding items to the Dock please see the Dock page.

Note: On Macintosh cluster computers, you can store your own set of fonts in your Library/Fonts folder.
