The first part of the meeting consists of detailed presentations and discussion on new or existing technologies. The remainder of the meeting will consist of either round-robin discussions, where the topic will be individual departmental technical needs or concerns, or discussions on a given service or procedure.
The Forum's "Your Turn" feature allows Departmental Computing Administrators to present and discuss their department's solutions and uses of technology, such as departmental backup & recovery strategies, operating system update & virus scanning tactics, or cool and innovative projects.
The forum meetings are usually scheduled on the last Tuesday of each month. No meetings are scheduled for the months of August or December. The meeting date, location, and agenda are always emailed to the Departmental Computing Group mailing list during the week prior to the Forum, and the meetings are listed in Oracle Calendar.
