Virtual Andrew for Android Devices
Note: VMWare View for Android is compatible with Android operating system version 2.2 and above. To determine your device's operating system version, touch Settings > About phone.
Install
From your Android mobile device:
- Search for "VMware View" in the Playstore. Be sure to select the version that is published by VMWare, Inc.
- On the VMWare View app page, touch Download.

- Accept the end-user license agreement by touching Accept & download.

From your computer:
- Go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmware.view.client.android.
- On the VMWare View page, click Install.
- If prompted, log in to your Google account.
- In the Checkout window, under Send To, select the device to which you wish to send the application (e.g. phone) and click Install.

- VMWare View will install on the selected device.
Connect
- Open VMWare View on your Android device.
- On the Welcome screen, touch Add server.

- In the Server Name or Address field, type virtual.andrew.cmu.edu. Leave the Server Description field blank, unless you wish to assign a nickname to the connection.

- Touch Connect.
- On the Connection Server screen, enter your Andrew userID and password. If not already selected, select the Andrew domain.

- Touch Connect.
- Touch Virtual Andrew. Your Android device will display the Virtual Andrew desktop and may also display basic gesture help.

- After initial setup is completed, your Android device will display a Virtual Andrew icon for easy access.
