Additional Software in Linux Clusters

In addition to the software listed on the Specialty Software Chart, the following applications are available in Computing Services' Linux clusters and on the unix.andrew.cmu.edu pool.

Note: The Gates (Linux) Cluster is operated in partnership with the School of Computer Science. Gates machines offer all of the same software titles as the Computing Services public Linux computer labs.

Alternative Linux Applications

The following alternative applications are available from the School of Computer Science via /usr/local/cs.  These software packages are not supported by Computing Services.   Students should receive instruction in-class about how to use this software.  If you are using this software for a course and experience difficulties, please seek assistance from your professor or teaching assistant.
