MyFiles and Roaming Profiles
Computers in Computing Services' public Windows and Macintosh clusters offer MyFiles storage space and roaming profiles. These two features allow a consistent "feel" as they afford students, faculty and staff members the ability to access commonly used information or features from any Windows or Macintosh cluster
computer.
In addition to being able to save your documents on the server, the MyFiles feature on Windows will allow you to perform self-restores of documents and directories in your MyFiles central storage space.
MyFiles gives students, faculty and staff the ability to access saved documents from any Windows or Macintosh cluster computer. You are allocated 1GB of MyFiles central storage space. This quota will not be increased.
Roaming profiles save your application settings, browser favorites and preferences giving you a consistent look and feel as you move from cluster computer to cluster computer. Your roaming profile information will be stored on a central server. Windows-based cluster computers have an additional 20MB allocated to roaming profiles. As with your MyFiles quota, your roaming profiles quota will not be increased.
