OpenAFS makes it easy to access and save files stored in your AFS space without using an SFTP client. OpenAFS is available in Windows clusters and through Virtual Andrew.

Using OpenAFS on Windows Cluster Computers
Obtaining AFS Credentials
After logging in to any Windows cluster computer, you will notice a red "X" over the AFS credential icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Right-click on the Network Identity Manager icon and click Show Network Identity Manager window.
Select Credential > Obtain new credentials, or click the Obtain New Credentials icon.
In the New credentials window, enter the following:
Username: your Andrew userID
Realm: change to ANDREW.CMU.EDU
Password: your Andrew account password
Click Ok.
The red "X" over the AFS credential icon in the lower right corner of the screen should now be replaced by a plain lock icon.
To view the systems for which you now have credentials, select View > Advanced in the Network Identity Manager window.
To close the list, select View > Advanced a second time.
Locating AFS Directories
Select Start > Computer.
In the navigation bar at the top of the window, type in the following file path: \\afs\andrew.cmu.edu\usr\AndrewUserID "AndrewUserID" is your own Andrew userID.
You can now browse files housed in your AFS space.
