Introduction

The aim of this documentation is to help you successfully utilize the classroom equipment for classes and presentations.  If you have suggestions or comments, please email MediaTech at mediatech@cmu.edu.

Lending Equipment

Wireless microphones are available from the MediaTech office in Cyert Hall A-74 and may be borrowed by faculty for a term.  Other equipment (e.g., tripod, camcorder, etc.) may be requested on an as needed basis.  To reserve equipment, use the online order form or visit the MediaTech office in Cyert Hall A-74.

Equipment Cables

Laptop VGA and audio cables are provided.  Please bring the appropriate cable to the classroom, if you are using the following:

• VCR or camcorder - RCA cable
  
• iPod video player - RCA to Mini cable
  
• Second laptop - VGA cable
  
• Musical device - Mini-to-mini cable
  

Coaxial Digital and Toslink Cables

Coaxial digital and toslink cables can be used with external devices such as a Blu-Ray player or iPod.  These cables provide high quality digital sound.  Gates 4301 has inputs for these cables.
