Network Guests

Who is eligible: Visitors to campus or individuals attending a demonstration, seminar or meeting who require a temporary userID (90 days or less) for a wired or wireless network connection.

Entitlements and Restrictions

How to request it: Authorized faculty or staff accounts can create a network guest account using the Network Guest Accounts portlet in the Carnegie Mellon Web Portal. For step by step help with this process, including information on how to gain access to the portlet, refer to Network Guest Accounts.

Suspension process: The expiration date is set when the account is created. A Network Guest account can be active for anywhere from 1 to 90 days. At the time of expiration, the Network Guest account will be deleted and the password will be reset. If you need to renew this account, please talk to the account administrator or send mail to accounts@andrew.cmu.edu.
