Guest Accounts

Who is eligible: Visitors or participants in special programs and conferences on campus who require a temporary userID for a short-term (5 months or less). These accounts provide cluster access, network registration and access, and an email account. For long-term visitors, please see Personal Sponsored.

How to request it: Full-time permanent staff or faculty can request a guest account by sending email to accounts@andrew.cmu.edu.

Suspension process: Guest accounts are available for a maximum of 5 months and cannot be renewed. The expiration date is set when the account is created. Once the account expires, files and email cannot be restored. A suspension notice is sent to the account’s email address 7 days and again 3 days prior to the suspension. If you need to renew this account, please send mail to accounts@andrew.cmu.edu.
