Mary Ann BlairMary Ann Blair

Mary Ann Blair currently serves as director of Information Security at Carnegie Mellon where she is responsible for real-time protection of the campus computing and network infrastructure and business enterprise environment. This includes information security architecture, intrusion detection, incident response, computer forensics, compliance with security related regulatory requirements, security policy requirements and enforcement and training and awareness. 
 
Prior to launching the Information Security Office, Mary Ann served as director of administrative computing at Carnegie Mellon. In that capacity, she was technical project director for the Oracle Financials deployment, led the design and development of DRIVE—the university's first client/server project that distributed real-time entry to the human resources information system, and led various other application development, systems integration, and systems maintenance projects over a fifteen year period.  

Mary Ann is active in EDUCAUSE and its partner programs and has served in numerous capacities including: EDUCAUSE Security Task Force Policy and Law Subgroup; EDUCAUSE Program Committee; CUMREC Board of Directors; and others.
