Ken J. HallinenKenneth J. Hallinen

Kenneth J. Hallinen is Director of Financial & Facilities Planning for Computing Services at Carnegie Mellon. His areas of responsibility include overseeing the division’s finances, with transactions totaling roughly 31 million dollars and facilities planning for the university’s central computing data center.

Ken joined the division as a Computer Operator in 1983. Since that time he has served variously as Shift Supervisor, Operations Manager, Budget Analyst, Business Manger and most recently Manager, Finance & Planning. He has participated in various campus-wide development efforts and has written several tools to facilitate the interaction with the University’s Oracle financial system for general campus use.

Ken holds a joint appointment with the Athletics department where he has been an assistant track coach since 1989.  He also holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon in Administration and Management Science (82) and Information Systems (F85).
