Weekend Transportation

Parking

Parking is available in the following lots throughout the weekend. (NOTE: Parking is limited and fills up quickly on Sunday.) Please refer to the campus map [.pdf] for parking lot and garage locations. All parking lots and garages are handicapped accessible.

  • East Campus Garage (no charge)
    On Sunday, the first floor of the East Campus Garage will be reserved for those with special needs. No prior arrangements are necessary.Morewood Lot (no charge)
  • Doherty Lot (no charge)
  • Collaborative Innovation Center Garage
    $4 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour, up to $16.
  • Gates Garage
    $5 per visit on the weekend. Garage is accessible by taking Frew Street to Roberts Drive.
  • Dithridge/Software Engineering Institute Garage
    $5 per visit on the weekend

Additional Street Parking

The following streets have metered parking spaces. Meters are monitored on Saturday by the City of Pittsburgh Police and parking violations may be ticketed. Please follow posted regulations. Meters are not monitored on Sundays. Refer to the campus map [.pdf] for locations.

  • Frew Street Parking
  • Tech Street Parking

Shuttles

Complimentary shuttle service will be available between campus, the Gates Garage, the CIC Garage, the Dithridge/Software Engineering Institute Garage and off-campus diploma ceremonies on Sunday only.

Parking Shuttles

7 – 11 a.m. and 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

One shuttle will run continuously between campus, the Gates Garage and the CIC Garage. The other shuttle will run continuously between the Dithridge/Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Garage and campus.

The pick-up/drop-off location is outside the entrance to each garage and the UC circle.

1:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The shuttle will run continuously between campus, the Gates Garage, the CIC Garage and the Dithridge/SEI Garage.

The pick-up/drop-off location is outside the entrance to each garage and the UC circle.

Off-Campus Diploma Ceremony Shuttles

12:30 – 5 p.m.

Shuttles will run continuously between campus and all off-campus diploma ceremony sites (except Heinz Field for the ETC ceremony).

The pick-up/drop-off location is at the corner of Forbes and Morewood Avenues, in front of Cyert Hall.

    • NOTE: Shuttles to this location will continue to run until 6:30 p.m.
  • Winchester Thurston School (Materials Science & Engineering)
  • Mellon Institute (Chemistry)
  • Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall (Business Administration (Bachelor’s) & Economics)
  • David Lawrence Hall, University of Pittsburgh (Civil & Environmental Engineering)
  • Carnegie Museum Lecture Hall (Chemical Engineering)
    • NOTE: Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the shuttle will pick guests up across the street from the Lecture Hall to transport them to Phipps Conservatory.
  • Carnegie Museum Music Hall (School of Computer Science)
