Honors Ceremonies Details

All ceremonies will take place on campus. Locations are listed below.
Please note that some ceremonies are preceded or followed by a reception.

Seniors receiving university and college honors will be presented with honors medallions and cords, which should be worn to the main commencement ceremony on Sunday.

  • Each ceremony lasts approximately one hour.
  • Tickets are not required. Seating is first come, first served.
  • Caps and gowns are not required. (except for at the Mellon College of Science ceremony, gowns (but no caps) should be worn by graduates.)
  • Associate deans will issue invitations to qualifying students and their parents beginning in mid-March and continuing through mid-April (depending on when a student's grade point average is finalized).

Chosky Theater, Purnell Center
A reception will begin at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Purnell Center.

College of Engineering
Wiegand Gym, first floor, Cohon University Center

College of Fine Arts (with BHA/BSA/BCSA)
Chosky Theater, Purnell Center
A reception will begin at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Purnell Center.

Dietrich College of Humanities & Social Sciences
Rangos Hall, second floor, Cohon University Center
A reception will begin at 8 a.m. in Rangos Hall.

Mellon College of Science
McConomy Auditorium, first floor, Cohon University Center

School of Computer Science
Rashid Auditorium, Room 4401, Gates & Hillman Centers
A reception will begin at 10 a.m. outside Rashid Auditorium.

Tepper School of Business
Tepper Main Lobby, Posner Hall (Tech and Frew Street entrance)
A reception will begin at 10 a.m. in Tepper Atrium, Posner Hall.

Unable to Attend your Honors Ceremony?

Students can pick up their cords and medallions at the commencement welcome area, beginning at the conclusion of the honors ceremonies on Saturday.
