Student Stories
At Carnegie Mellon University, our students dream big and follow their passions with intensity, just as they have for more than 100 years.
Chris DeFrancesco (E’11)
“I want to be an inspiration…
to help society as an engineer.”
Chris DeFrancesco’s big dreams are about intention. He sees his engineering degree as a starting point for doing good. And he views his plans to work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an important part of “paying back” those who have always supported him – a group that includes many at Carnegie Mellon University. Chris says, “The way my peers work together, and the curriculum and activities here, push me every day to be a helper and giver.”
