Requesting a Site
When you are ready to request a site send us an email containing the following information:
Project Sponsor and Project Lead
The Project Sponsor is the ultimate decision-maker for matters pertaining to the site. The Sponsor must be either a faculty or staff member of the university. The Sponsor makes requests for URLs. The Sponsor can perform any of the responsibilities of the Project Lead. The Project Lead is the person responsible for the day-to-day building and maintenance of the site. The Lead is usually a faculty or staff member of the university. The Lead can request version upgrades and special page types. The Lead must authorize requests to the CMS team to add or remove users from the site.
Content Outline
This is a list of the items you plan to place in the Primary, Secondary, and Header Navigation as shown in the example below.

Having a content outline prepared will make building your website easier. If you need help with this, schedule a consult with our information architect. Other resources for general information about organizing your content are Brain Traffic, Boxes and Arrows, and Web Content.
Site Name and URL
The Site Name is the name of your site as you would like it to appear in the logo area (unitmark) on your website. We will create a simple unitmark that follows the Web Guidelines for the Logo Box. When you request a site, please let us know your desired URL for the launched site. We will need to review your request and make certain that it follows the General Rules for URL Assignment.
Special Page Types (optional)
When you request a site in the CMS it comes with basic 2-column and 3-column pages. In addition, you may request any of our special page types.
