Teacher Time Commitment
- Teachers may participate in Weekend Workshops or Summer Programs or both.
- Selected summer program teachers will participate in a training session in the Pittsburgh area
prior to the program's start. Most summer courses are held either in late June or mid-July.
Teachers should plan to spend approximately one hour before class and one hour after class each
day preparing for the students and evaluating the day's events. At the end of the two weeks,
teachers complete a classroom observation for each student, which is returned to the C-MITES
office for review and distribution within two weeks of the end of the program.
- Weekend workshop classes are either three or 6 hours in length and are offered on
selected Saturdays and Sundays throughout the school year.
