Bio

Jonathan Garro is a 2012 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College, where he completed a masters degree in Public Policy and Management. He also holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in History, from the University of San Diego.

Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon, Garro served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, where he worked in the Urban Youth Development sector. He has also served as a Case Manager on an AmeriCorps project in San Diego that counseled youth on probation.

Garro’s career interests include international development strategies focused on empowering youth with the help of technology. As a Research Associate with CIPI, he worked on CIPI initiatives focused on African regional security and prevention of mass violence.
