Bio

Jonathan Garro is a Master's of Public Policy and Management candidate at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College. He graduated from the University of San Diego in 2007, where he received a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science with a minor in History.

Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon, Jonathan served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, where he worked in the Urban Youth Development sector. He has also served as a Case Manager on an AmeriCorps project in San Diego that counseled youth on probation.

Garro’s career interests include international development strategies that are focused on empowering youth with the help of technology. As a Research Associate with CIPI, he is working on CIPI initiatives focused on African regional security and prevention of mass violence.
