Position: Light Board Operator
Advisors: Staff Lighting Technologist and Faculty Lighting Designer
Basic Job Description: The Light Board Operator is responsible for the programming and operation of the
lighting for a production.
Responsibilities:
Tech/Dress
- The Light Board Operator operates the lighting console as directed by the Lighting Designer, Assistant Lighting Designer
and/or the Master Electrician.
- The Board Op works with the ME to complete a dimmer check and fix any problems before each dress rehearsal.
- The Light Board Operator is responsible for maintaining a record of disk functions performed on the lighting console.
Production Run
- The Light Board Operator is responsible for maintaining and executing lighting aspects of a given production as designed and
cued by the Lighting Designer.
- The Board Op works with the ME to complete a dimmer check and fix any problems before each performance.
- The Light Board Operator is responsible for maintaining a record of disk functions performed on the lighting console.
At any time throughout the production schedule the Light Board Op may utilize the Staff Lighting Technologist or the Faculty Lighting Advisor
to help resolve any ambiguities in a particular project's process.
The Light Board Operator MUST attend Strike. |
