REGISTRATION & ATTENDEE INFORMATION
Do I need to register?
Please note: Online registration will open in late summer/early fall of 2015. An email will be sent to the campus community once pre-registration is open. We highly encourage pre-registration in order to get an accurate room and a food count, although onsite registration is available for events without a capacity limit. Pre-registration will close on Friday, October 2.
Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
Yes, by providing an email address you will receive a message confirming details of your registration once registration has opened in late summer/early fall.
What if it’s not my 50th celebration year…should I still attend Cèilidh Weekend?
Absolutely! Cèilidh is open to the entire campus community, and we welcome all faculty, staff, alumni, students, and their families to the numerous activities planned throughout the entire weekend.
Am I able to see who else is attending?
Yes, the See Who's Planning to Attend list is now available online.
What should I wear for the weekend?
Attire for the weekend varies depending on the event, although most events are casual.
HOTEL & TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
Where should I stay near campus?
While our office no longer hold room blocks, we are happy to provide a list of local hotels.
Where should I park on campus?
In addition to the East Campus Garage, parking is available in the Dithridge Street Garage (Weekdays: $12 daily rate; $5 weekends & weekdays after 5 pm) and the Gates Garage (Weekdays: $14 maximum rate; $4 weekends and weekdays after 5 pm). NOTE: ADA accessible parking is available in the East Campus Garage. The blue decal (pass or license plate) is required in order to utilize the spaces.
What if a I need a ride somewhere off campus?
Great news, there is a special Uber deal for Cèilidh attendees! If you need to get around Pittsburgh during the weekend, Uber offers a free ride up to $20 for new users from October 5-31. Just visit uber.com/app and enter promo code Ceilidh15.
Where do I go when I first arrive on campus?
When you arrive on campus, stop at the Registration & Welcome Area in Wean Commons (First Floor), Cohon University Center to pick up a weekend brochure (so you know exactly what to do and where to go) and get your FREE souvenir!
Are there facilities for those with disabilities or special needs (including dietary)?
We want to make sure Cèilidh is enjoyable, welcoming and accessible for all alumni, families, students, and their guests. If you or any of your guests have special needs, please let us know.

Are golf carts and wheel chairs available?

Where is the bookstore located? What are the hours of operation?
The Carnegie Mellon University Store is located on the first floor and lower level of the Cohon University Center.
Thursday & Friday: 8:30 am-5 pm
Saturday: 10 am-5 pm
Sunday: 10 am-2 pm
Please join the Carnegie Mellon University Store for our annual Cèilidh event. Visit our Campus Spirit and Campus Life departments, as well as the Art Store, to see our great new merchandise. Where should I eat on campus?
In addition to the many activities throughout the weekend that will have food and beverages, if you are looking for a place to eat on campus, be sure to check out the Dining Service website
May I use the gym?
Guests may use the athletic facilities this weekend by presenting their Cèilidh Weekend name badge at the Equipment Desk, located on the first floor of the University Center, across from Wiegand Gym. You will receive a wristband and access to locker rooms and facilities, as available (including gymnasium, pools, weight room, racquetball and squash courts).

Is there a good spot to “catch up” on campus?
If you would like a quiet space to take a break or catch up with your student or friends, then stop by any of these locations:
Am I able to smoke on campus?
Many areas on campus have been designated smoke-free zones, inclusive of 20 feet proximity to all building entrances. Please adhere to the university policy and the posted smoking areas.
Is wireless available?
All guests will have wireless access, valid from October 7-12, 2015. Check back for code and additional details in August.
