David Dzombak Honored by St. Vincent College

David Dzombak, Walter J. Blenko University Professor and Faculty Director of the Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research, received an honorary doctorate in science and gave the featured speech at St. Vincent College's commencement in December.  In his address, Professor Dzombak urged the graduates to become engaged in their local communities. "Broadly educated, thoughtful people are needed in the public discourse about issues that affect our communities and quality of life, including environmental quality issues," Dzombak stated.

Professor Dzombak received his B.A. in mathematics from St. Vincent College in the 3-2 math-engineering program, then completed his B.S. in civil engineering and M.S. in civil and environmental engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his Ph.D. in civil-environmental engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
