Campus Design & Facility Development

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) embraces the ongoing challenge of being a world-respected teaching and research institution. In response to the need for state-of-the-art facilities to sustain the advances and growth expected of a prestigious university, CMU is faced with addressing academic needs within the confines of a century-old campus through the renovation of existing buildings and the construction of new facilities. In recognition of the impact that such projects have on the University and area residents, Campus Design & Facility Development (CDFD) group endeavors to keep the university and local community informed of major renovations and construction projects. In cases of large, active construction projects that might present significant impact on the University and area community, we coordinate scheduled meetings with all stakeholders to serve as exchange forums and as opportunities to present updates of upcoming project-related impacts.
CDFD is under the office of the Provost of the University.

The CDFD Web site is one of the ways to keep the lines of communication open between the University and its community.

Please Note: CDFD and Facilities Management Services (FMS) are separate groups. While we work closely to meet the needs of our University clients, each group provides unique services to the University. We are operationally and structurally managed separately. Issues related to building maintenance, repairs, and custodian services, should be directed to FMS. To contact FMS click here.

Thank you for contacting Campus Design & Facility Development. This web page was designed to help you obtain and locate information quickly.
