Employers use telephone interviews as a method of identifying and recruiting candidates for employment. Telephone interviews are often used to screen candidates in order to narrow the pool of applicants who will be invited for site visit interviews. They are also used as a way to minimize the expenses involved in interviewing out-of-town candidates.
If you have a phone interview scheduled, and need a quiet space to take the call, the Career and Professional Development Center can help. The Career and Professional Development Center has 15 dedicated interview spaces, plus a conference room open until 5:00 PM. If you would like to use one of these spaces for your phone interview, please email email@example.com.
Include your name, email address, the date of the interview, start time and end time. We would appreciate receiving your request at least two business days before your interview so we can coordinate your needs with our on-campus interviews. We know that's not always possible, so feel free to stop by (University Center, Lower Level) or call 412-268-2066 if you have a last-minute request.
